This image, recently sold at Teichart Gallery, Halifax, was taken one frosty morning at Turtle Grove Dartmouth. I had been working with an exceptional group of Mi'kmaq youth on a Photopolis 2017 Project. I returned to Turtle Grove several times to photograph the site where many Mi'kmaq people were killed during the 1917 Halifax Explosion.
Look Up! was a 2014 solo photography exhibition in which I explored the smart phone and what you could see if you did actually did take the time to look up!

searise is a mixed media piece which consists of nine pieces, often set in a grid. The photographs are laminated onto gallery boards and they have a wire (with its shadow) the shape of which is taken from the actual topography of the shoreline where the photo was taken. The photos were taken in the winter of 2014 (a very cold one) and address a growing environmental concern.

confined... was a 2013 exhibition at the Anna Leonowens Gallery when I was a third year BFA student at NSCAD. These animals were photographed at Oaklawn Farm Zoo, NS prior to a safari trip in Tanzania. A group show of emerging artists at ViewPoint Gallery followed in which I showed diptychs of the captured vs. free animals.
The black frames are printed on the prints to further emphasize the title.

Also working on architectural photos with negative space. Calming.
